The idea behind :
After several years in Morocco, working as photographers and videomakers, we decided that it was time to share our love and fascination for this country with other enthusiasts. We want to give the opportunity to explore Morocco avoiding the usual touristic and crowded routes and being able to collect meaningful and responsible pictures.
A journey on the road, discovering wild nature, historical sites and ancient traditions.
Necessaryimage is the choice to learn photography while travelling in a different way, with an eye to sustainability, supporting locals and involving them, while creating a link with our participants, in the respect of culture and people. Our travel makes use of hostels and accommodations that have been set-up and run by locals.
The workshop is open to all levels of expertise with the possibility to learn from a photographer with over 15 years of experience of Moroccan life. Every day we will chase the light, from sunrises to sunsets, enjoying the wide sky of Morocco. Encountering other cultures and learning new things. Necessaryimage is a unique chance to open eyes and souls, because travelling is not only about places but people and connections.
Day 1: Marrakech – Kasbah de Télouet
Day 2: Kasbah de Télouet – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou
Day 3: Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Oasis de Skoura
Day 4: Skoura – Kelaa Mgouna – Boulmane Dades – Tinghir
Day 5: Tinghir – Ouarzazate
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Tighdouine – Village de Ansaa
Day 7:Tighdouine – Marrakech
The workshop is suitable for all levels of photographers , we just expect that you enjoy being outside and walk a little.
Take with you the camera you are most comfortable with, but we recommend to bring a camera with full manual control as well as interchangeable lenses, to be ready in any situation.
Never forget that travel light is a great start to enjoy your journey, a tired photographer is never a good one.
Filters (Neutral Density, Polarizer, etc) are optional but recommended.
A tripod will allow you to capture long exposure, having precise framing while photographing landscapes.
I will take with me my trusty Fujifilm X-T3, a selection of primes, few ND and polarizer, a small travel tripod, and maybe my old Rolleiflex!
